About Us

Monocacy Montessori Communities, Inc. (MMCI) is a Maryland non-profit organized primarily to create, develop and operate one or more charter schools and in general, to further and promote educational activities in Maryland. The Board of Trustees of MMCI is comprised of highly educated parents and community members.This organization has substantial expertise in operating a charter school. MMCI is the founder of Maryland’s first Public Charter School, Monocacy Valley Montessori Public Charter School (MVMPCS) which opened in 2002.
